1. These Terms
1.1 What These Terms Cover
These terms and conditions (Terms) govern how we, Move Easy, on behalf of our Partners, provide Transport Services to you, and how we deliver Booking Services to you as a Private Customer.
1.2 Why You Should Read These Terms
We recommend reviewing these Terms carefully before confirming your booking with Move Easy. They explain who we are, detail our Booking Services, describe the Transport Services our Partners offer, and clarify the contracts between you, Move Easy, and our Partners.
1.3 Definitions Used in These Terms
- Additional Domestic: Transport Services within the UK that involve a ferry or water crossing.
- Move Easy/Our/Us/We: Move Easy Limited, with further details in clause 2.1.
- Move Easy Quote: The quote provided by Move Easy as per clause 2.5.1, including any extra charges outlined in clause 2.5.4.
- Move Easy Site: Our website at www.move-easy.co.uk.
- Booking: Move Easy’s acceptance of your Booking Request.
- Booking Request: Your request for Transport Services submitted via a Booking Request Form.
- Booking Request Form: The online process on the Move Easy Site where you provide details needed for your Move Easy Quote.
- Booking Services: Our website and technology platform that connects you with our Partners to arrange Transport Services.
- Comprehensive Inventory List: A complete list of all items to be transported by us or our Partners.
- Comprehensive Insurance Cover: Optional insurance available under clause 9.2.
- Contract: A legally binding agreement incorporating these Terms, formed between you and Move Easy (for Booking Services) and Move Easy on behalf of our Partners (for Transport Services), once your Booking Request is accepted, a Move Easy Quote is provided, and you select a Price Option.
- Customer Care Team: Our support team, contactable as per clause 2.2.
- Domestic: Transport Services within the UK, excluding water crossings.
- Edit: Any change, amendment, or removal related to the Transport Services, including dates, times, contact details, addresses, floors, items, dimensions, or special instructions.
- Hourly Rate Job: Defined in clause 4.
- Hourly Rate Vehicle: Defined in clause 4.3.
- International: Transport Services outside the UK or requiring our Partners to operate beyond the UK.
- Insurer: Fiducia MGA Company Limited.
- Job Number: A unique number assigned to your Booking upon confirmation.
- Job Sheet: A document confirming completion of Transport Services to a satisfactory standard.
- Partner/Partners: Transport providers contracted to deliver Transport Services under these Terms, with Move Easy acting as their agent.
- Price: The amount you pay Move Easy (on behalf of our Partners) for Transport Services, based on your chosen Price Option and any agreed changes.
- Price Options: Options provided under clause 2.5.1.
- Private Customer: An individual entering this agreement for personal use, not primarily for business or professional purposes.
- Services: Either Transport Services or Booking Services, as applicable.
- Transport Services: Road transport of your goods by our Partners.
- Urgent Booking: A Booking made with less than 48 hours’ notice.
- Van Size: An option on the Booking Request Form for Hourly Rate Jobs, allowing you to select a van size based on your own estimates, alongside or instead of a Comprehensive Inventory List.
- Volume Size: An option on the Booking Request Form to specify the volume of goods in cubic meters or feet, alongside or instead of a Comprehensive Inventory List.
- Writing/Written: Includes email, live chat, and post.
2. Information About Move Easy and How to Contact Us
2.1 Who We Are
We are Smart Bookings Ltd, trading as Move Easy, registered in England and Wales under company number 12746265, with our registered office at 263 Nottingham Road, Nottingham, NG7 7DA.

2.3 How We’ll Contact You
We may contact you by phone, email, post (using details from your Booking Request Form), text, or WhatsApp to the mobile number you provide.
2.4 Private Customers
As a Private Customer, your Contract with Move Easy is made with us acting as the Partner’s agent for Transport Services. We are not responsible for performing Transport Services or liable for them. Our Partners authorise us to enter this Contract and arrange Transport Services on their behalf. This Contract governs your agreement with the Partner. We retain a fee (the difference between your Price and the Partner’s charge) for our agency role. You agree Move Easy does not provide Transport Services directly to Private Customers but acts as an intermediary via our Booking Services.
2.5 The Move Easy Quote
Through our Booking Services, we’ll provide Price Options based on your Booking Request Form details. These vary by timing and requested dates. Amendments are accepted up to 48 hours before the Transport Services start, though additional charges may apply. If a Partner arrives and cannot access the premises, and you’re unreachable by phone (using the number provided) within 15 minutes, they may cancel the service at their discretion. No refund will be due, and any unpaid amounts become immediately payable. Changes within 48 hours, if accommodated, incur extra fees. If goods cannot be delivered within 15 minutes (or 30 minutes for house removals) at the destination, we may charge £20 per day for storage. After 90 days, we may sell or dispose of unclaimed goods reasonably. Additional charges apply if the booked services differ upon the Partner’s arrival. Material discrepancies allow the Partner to terminate the Contract. Government fees, customs duties, or port charges (for international moves) are excluded from quotes and are your responsibility. Unpaid additional charges are due within five days of service completion. Contact our Customer Care Team with questions about charges.
2.6 If We Can’t Accept Your Booking Request
If no Partner is available or willing to take your Booking Request, we’ll notify you promptly in writing or by phone. We’ll make reasonable efforts to find another Partner, though acceptance remains at our and our Partners’ discretion.
2.7 Your Job Number
Once your Booking Request is confirmed, we’ll assign and share a Job Number. Please quote it when contacting us.
3. Services and Our Contract With You
3.1 Your Booking
We provide Price Options based on your Booking Request Form. Changes to this information may adjust the Price. Selecting a Price Option and providing payment details forms a Contract with Move Easy (for Booking Services) and our Partner (for Transport Services), authorising us to confirm the arrangement.
3.2 Services
Partners will arrive at the agreed address and time, subject to any accepted changes (which may alter the Price). Only goods listed in the Comprehensive Inventory List will be transported; we’re not liable for unlisted items or miscalculated Van/Volume Sizes. Payments for changes, including on the day, must go through Move Easy—Partners cannot accept direct payment. Goods will be delivered in their packed condition; see clause 8 for liability details. Report damage with evidence within seven days of service completion, or liability may not apply. Prices cover moving, driver, and fuel costs unless stated otherwise. We may combine deliveries for eco-efficiency. Delivery times are estimates only. Home Setup Services (e.g., council tax/utility notifications) are included free, provided by Ethical Introductions Limited (T/A Just Move In). We’ll share your contact details with them unless you opt out at info@move-easy.co.uk.
3.3 Services We Don’t Provide
Partners won’t enter unsafe premises, transport animals/people without prior written agreement, handle illegal/dangerous goods, or perform unqualified tasks. Specially licensed goods need prior written consent and documentation; otherwise, we’re not liable and may dispose of them, charging you costs. Storage, furniture assembly, appliance handling, or outdoor item moves require prior written agreement and may incur fees.
3.4 Additional Services
Optional extras (e.g., packing, insurance) must be booked through Move Easy under these Terms. Contact us for details.
3.5 The Service Provider
Partners, vetted by our team, deliver the Transport Services.
4. Hourly Rate Jobs
4.1 Booking an Hourly Rate Job
Select this option on the Booking Request Form, detailing your needs and vehicle/driver requirements.
4.2 Vehicle and Driver Details
Specify vehicle size and driver needs where indicated.
4.3 Pricing
Price Options reflect your request, though vehicle availability may vary.
4.4 Changes or Termination
Material differences between your request and actual needs allow us to terminate without refund.
4.5 Exclusions
Pianos, motorcycles, and vehicles are excluded.
4.6 Additional Time
Extra time incurs charges, payable within five days of notification.
4.7 Time Overruns
Jobs exceeding your estimate by over one hour may be stopped at our discretion, with charges still due.
4.8 Included Costs
Prices cover one driver and 10 miles of fuel; extras (e.g., additional driver, fuel over 10 miles at £0.50/mile) cost more.
5. Services Outside the UK
5.1 Compliance
You must secure all necessary permits and customs documents at your cost.
5.2 Restrictions
Specialty goods needing licences aren’t transported without prior agreement.
5.3 Transit Times
Estimates may vary; we’ll update you but aren’t liable for delays unless due to our negligence.
6. Customer Obligations
6.1 Your Responsibilities
Ensure goods are yours or you have permission to move them, provide accurate contact and address details, arrange parking (covering fines if not), disclose floor/access details, be present or represented, sign delivery confirmation, prepare appliances, empty furniture, list goods accurately, pack items (or book packing), and pay via Move Easy.
7. Cancellation & Postponement
7.1 Statutory Rights
The 2013 Consumer Contracts Regulations don’t apply to specific-date transport services.
7.2 Your Cancellation
Notify us in writing or by phone:
- Domestic: Free if over 48 hours before; 50% charge within 48 hours; full charge within 24 hours (no refund).
- International/Additional Domestic: Free if over five business days before; no refund within five days.
- Urgent Bookings are non-refundable. Disputes must be raised within seven days.
7.3 Our Cancellation
We may terminate for your breach or if no Partner is available (offering a refund unless due to your breach).
7.4 Refunds
Refunds, where applicable, process within five days of a written request with bank details.
8. Liability for Loss or Damage
8.1 Move Easy’s Liability
We’re not liable for losses arising from the Contract.
8.2 Partner Liability
Partners cover damage they cause to premises/goods (with evidence), limited to repairs, if negligent. Notify us within seven days.
8.3 Exclusions
No liability for your actions, perishables, infestations, fire (beyond insurance), self-packed goods, normal wear, unlisted items, fragile goods, collections, personal items, business losses, or post-delivery issues.
8.4 Liability Cap
Partner liability is capped at £50,000 per Contract.
8.5 International Moves
No liability for customs seizures unless due to Partner negligence.
8.6 Uncontrollable Events
No liability for natural disasters, war, strikes, or delays beyond our control.
8.7 Non-Excludable Liability
We don’t limit liability for death/injury from negligence or fraud.
8.8 Storage
Partners may hold goods for unpaid fees; after 90 days, we may sell them.
9. Insurance
9.1 Basic Cover
Included: £50,000 for fire/full theft; £100 per item for other damage.

9.3 Claims
Don’t invalidate coverage; no liability if you can claim elsewhere.
10. Lien Rights
10.1 Holding Goods
Partners may retain goods until all fees are paid, including storage costs.
10.2 Sale of Goods
Unpaid after 90 days, we may sell goods to recover costs.
11. Complaints

12. Personal Information
12.1 Use
We use your data to connect you with Partners, process payments, and (if agreed) offer similar services. See our privacy policy.
12.2 Sharing
We share data only as legally required or permitted.
13. Other Terms
13.1 Transfer by Us
We may transfer our rights/obligations, ensuring no impact on you.
13.2 Your Transfer
Requires our prior written consent.
13.3 Third Parties
Only you, Move Easy, and our Partner have rights under this Contract.
13.4 Severability
Unlawful clauses don’t affect the rest.
13.5 Enforcement
Delayed action doesn’t waive our rights.
13.6 Governing Law
English law applies; disputes go to English courts.
